Aliveness in transition

A sensory conversation series with women navigating change — on the body, the senses, and the rituals that hold us.

A tender conversation with Lauren Aletta from Innerhue — a modern mystic and intuitive guide whose work invites us back into rhythm with our hearts, our bodies, and the seasons of our soul. On Living with the Seasons - a soft thread that speaks to her connection with rhythm, inner landscapes, and the wisdom of cyclical living.

What does aliveness mean to you in this season of life?

Right now I am straddling and learning a new balance of 'inner & outer aliveness'. I am perhaps in the very tender & fresh first stages of the 'spring soul season'. This means that my inner world pendulum swings between the hard & deep work of 'composting' the old expressions of myself, leading me to a place of rejuvenation. And the rejuvenation within me opens me up to inspiration and an outer aliveness where I engage in activities that nourish & nurture me. I've had to really stay attuned to the 'right' balance of inner & outer aliveness I require right now, which has been interesting to discover & learn!

How has your relationship with your senses evolved?

One of the activities I've been doing more recently is going to the bathhouse regularly. It's a whole bodied sense experience for me! The warm magnesium pool, the cold plunge & sauna ground me, reset me, bring me into a state of presence with myself and refreshes & energises me - body, mind & spirit! A few years ago I wouldn't have been seeking this kind of regular 'sense' immersion, but right now it's bliss!

What seasonal or sensory rituals or practices support you through change?

Well, the bathhouse! But movement in nature has been a long standing ritual for me. It supports me through every season! I love the ritual of walking at dawn, seeing the sun rise, moving my body to process or access my thoughts & feelings, experiencing the mystical magic that's in the morning air, connecting with nature. I've also returned to muay thai training over the past 8 months. The combo of my trainer & the intense physical activity is a weekly ritual I love!

How has your connection to your body shifted?

As I move further into my 40's I notice the connection I have with my body brings me into awareness of my soul and spirit. Where I may be tempted to judge my slowly changing physical body, I am invited instead to be in reverence of my spirit that permeates my physical body!

And when you do this you see yourself through the lens of beauty, wonder, grace, strength and love.

What golden practices help you stay rooted, especially in times of transition or seasonal shift?

Ensuring you stay connected to your heart! This is a non-negotiable. If you're not connected with your heart you won't know how to navigate your life in a true way to you.
